Customer and Product Communications Lead

We are seeking a motivated communications professional to help bring stories around Blend’s customers and products to life. You will play a key role in illustrating Blend’s momentum to the market and in strengthening our relationships with customers. Reporting to the external communications lead, you will be responsible for working with our customer-facing teams to identify and build joint Blend news moments and storylines together with key customers. You’ll also work hand-in-hand with our product marketing team to announce product innovations and execute comms programs that will drive interest with our key audiences across earned and owned channels. 

How you’ll contribute: 

  • Build comms strategy for customer and product storylines, working with cross-functional internal teams and agency partners to execute
  • Identify and activate spokespeople across different areas of the business to support the storylines you own; produce prep materials and spend time ensuring executives and spokespeople are prepared for the opportunities you secure
  • Bring customer and product stories to life across a variety of earned and owned channels
  • Lead product announcement strategy and execution from the comms perspective, working to drive alignment on approach among cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Together with our brand and digital team, identify opportunities to broaden the reach of stories across paid, earned, and owned platforms
  • Ensure customer and product work ladders up into Blend’s broader corporate narrative
  • Gather product and customer proof points to include in quarterly earnings announcements, and track customer spokespeople who would be a good fit for Blend’s corporate events
  • Act as an integral member of the communications team and support broader work in building and maintaining Blend’s reputation 

Who you are:

  • 6+ years of experience in B2B or financial technology PR/communications
  • Experiences in building out, developing messaging for, and leading product and/or customer communications programs
  • Experienced in preparing spokespeople for external opportunities 
  • Existing relationships with journalists
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong writer adept at translating complex technology concepts into easy-to-understand content
  • Passion for acquiring deep knowledge about product capabilities, customers, and industry trends
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to learn on the job and tackle new projects
  • Adaptable to growth and shifting responsibilities
