As a Security Compliance Engineer, you will build tools that automate security compliance controls for the information security team at Blend. The position will report to the Security Policy Manager, and will collaborate heavily with a cross-functional team including engineering, infrastructure, IT, and Legal. Your work will be a critical driver towards providing continuous security compliance monitoring for the Blend platform and supporting systems. In short, your role is to build the tools that enable Blend to know how secure and compliant it is at any given moment.

Financial services are critical infrastructure, and Blend is playing an increasingly significant role in providing digital experiences to consumers nationwide through close partnerships with leading banks and financial institutions. Your work will enable Blend to verify the operation of security controls customers and company stakeholders care deeply about.

How you'll contribute: 

  • Build systems and tools to automate manual security processes
  • Integrate SaaS solutions and move data between systems using APIs
  • Report on security control effectiveness and provide up to date compliance metrics to Blend leadership
  • Respond to security-related requests from peer teams
  • Audit security configurations across cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Who you are: 

  • 2+ years of experience in a security or IT engineering role
  • Proficiency in Python, Typescript, and/or Go
  • Deep understanding of AWS and GCP cloud services and security configurations
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI frameworks and their applicability to Blend’s business
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, learn, and ask thoughtful questions that help surface risk

  • Experience within fintech, the financial services industry, or another critical infrastructure industry (health, government, etc.)
