Strategic Sourcing Manager

Blend is looking for a dynamic, self-starter to join the Vendor Management team. As Strategic Sourcing Manager, you’ll provide subject matter expertise, business acumen, and negotiation skills to facilitate vendor selection and onboarding. You will lead vendor evaluations and pricing negotiations, as well as collaborate with risk stakeholders in implementing a risk-based approach to support risk assessment, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring activities. You will also participate in program development and spend management  projects. You will hustle, issue spot, problem solve, restructure deals, and build relationships, while driving our program and team forward.

How You'll Contribute:

• Review commercial agreements and lead business terms negotiations to drive value and efficiencies across the organization
• Act as a trusted consultant to business owners in vendor selection, requirements gathering and vendor performance management 
• Oversee vendor onboarding activities including planning, inherent risk assessment and initial due diligence
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Security, IT, and other risk stakeholders to identify, mitigate and manage third-party risks
• Guide business owners on oversight and monitoring activities, including QBRs, annual reviews, onsite visits, vendor scorecards and performance surveys
• Lead continuous improvement efforts such as vendor rationalization, optimizing existing relationships, mitigating residuals risks and ensuring program compliance
• Power through workflows with effective communications and keen sense of urgency
• Generate periodic and ad hoc reports, and create dashboards with key metrics

Who you are:

• 6+ years of procurement, vendor management, consulting, and/or risk management experience in a fast-paced environment
• Contract redlining and drafting specialist, with solid understanding of key commercial terms and robust SLAs
• Strategic sourcing experience across technology and non-technology categories
• Skilled at defining, influencing and driving procurement category strategies
• Outstanding business acumen 
• Strong critical thinking, project management and execution abilities
• Skilled in using data to drive strategy and decision making
• Ability to work independently and adaptively, and take initiative to resolve challenges

Bonus Points:

• Relevant financial services or Fintech experience
• Familiarity with procurement operations, OCC 2013-19 “Third-Party Relationships: Risk Management Guidance,” third-party risk, information security, business continuity management, and privacy 
• Experience with Zip, Ironclad, and OneTrust

For full time hires, the hiring base pay range for this position is between $110,500 ~ $140,000. Beyond base pay, Blend benefits and perks are described below.  

Final base pay offer amounts will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to function, level, geographic location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay will be adjusted for part-time roles to reflect scheduled hours.
